supersonic_528 asked: I got a speeding ticket in Florida but I live in Texas. I paid the full amount for the ticket. Will it help with my insurance cost if I take defensive driving course now? Which course shall I take – Florida or Texas?
Do the points get cleared immediately when I complete the course? If not, how long does it take to clear the points? While renewing the insurance, will they look for the completion certificate or the absence of points in my driving record in order to determine my premium?

My son got a few speeding tickets that he missed court on which resulted in some fines. His D.L. was suspended until the tickets were paid. Now that they are paid he is being told that the accumulation of points (4) on his record is going to result in another 6 month suspension. Can he at least get a restricted License to drive to and from work?
The major (2) tickets were received in CA. The state he lives in is Oklahoma, where he got one more speeding and one for driving on Suspended license. Suspended license will be removed if he gets it reinstated from CA.

PTK asked: First, I need to know about the different types of laws. I am analytical and can do research but I am much better at presentation. So what type of lawyer handles a lot of court room cases (not dealing with traffic tickets).
Then, what should I major in? What is political science? What jobs can I get in economics if I all of a sudden change my mind?
And of course, what school? Right now im going to enter 11th grade and my weighted GPA is 4.0. I have two regular classes left, 1 honors, and 9 AP. I live in Miami so just to experience something new I want to leave Florida. What schools are good for law? Is Harvard that much different from Texas?

So would I be able to take defensive driving again even though it’s within a year of the last citation?

Does defensive driving basically erase any knowledge of this to my insurance company?
Also, I was wondering if i don’t tell my insurance company how would they find out?
